Happy Labor Day! You might want to take a look at my list of gluten-free cookout recipes for today.
September’s Gluten-Free Wednesdays theme is apples, and I thought I would start off this first week of September with a recipe that includes apples.
It’s easy to think of apples as dessert material, which they are, but they are also great with lunch and dinner foods. In fact, apples are very versatile.
My kids really liked this recipe. What is there not to like? Sausage is right up there next to bacon and butter in the “foods that make anything taste good” category. Add in onions, apples, and a little honey, and this recipe was a hit. Even my pickiest eater said he wants me to make it again soon.

I make a similar dish with Italian Sausage links. Such a simple dish but so delicious.
Wish Canada was more “on-the-ball” with gluten free options. I would love to try this but gluten free sausage is hard to find.
It’s easy to make your own with ground pork or turkey. Here’s my recipe: http://glutenfreehomemaker.com/homemade-breakfast-sausage/
