In this week’s Favorite Finds, I’m sharing with you a new food product from one of my favorite companies, a line of personal care products that you can trust to be gluten free and free from other harmful ingredients, and a Christmas present that I’m having fun with.
Enjoy Life Protein Bites
Enjoy Life is one of my favorite companies because they make great tasting products that are free of top allergens, including gluten and dairy. This new product is called ProBurst Bites but I like to call them protein bites because for some reason ProBurst makes me think of probiotics.
They are small, truffle-like bites, but while they are a little sweet, they’re not a dessert. Three bites are a serving, and most of them contain 6 grams of protein per serving. The protein comes from rice, so these are not grain free.
My husband and son have both enjoyed them a couple of times for a quick on-the-go breakfast. They come in four flavors. My favorite is cranberry orange. They’re not on Amazon, and since they’re a new product it might take time to see them in stores. But you can order from Enjoylifefoods.com.
Pure Haven Essentials
Personal care products like lotion, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, and body wash can be full of unwanted chemicals (see ingredients to avoid in the picture below). They can also contain gluten, which can particularly be a problem with kids. (See my post on Do I need to Buy Gluten-Free Skin Care Products.)
So I was pleased when Sara, a friend of a friend, contacted me about Pure Haven Essentials. All of their products are gluten free, safe, clean, and effective.
Sara is having an on-line party for my readers. I won’t receive any commission from this because I want Sara to put it all towards her adoption fund raising effort. Every order of $95 or more will get a free gift. You can see what products they offer and order at PureHavenEssentials.com/SaraGraham and be sure to check out with Party ID 176468.
In this video, Sara shares what she love about Pure Haven Essentials and why you should consider using their products also.
Amazon Echo Dot
Our youngest son gave us an Amazon Echo Dot for Christmas, and I have to say that we love it. I wasn’t very familiar with any of the Echo products and thought they were primarily for using with smart home products (which we don’t have). But I was wrong.
The Dot is a smaller (and less expensive) version of the Echo. It’s smaller because while it does have a speaker, it’s not much of one. But I also got a UE Boom for Christmas and the dot pairs with that for listening to music.
We love using it for voice activating what music we want to listen to, setting timers, hearing the news, checking the weather, listening to jokes, and adding items to a shopping list (and more). You simply start by saying, “Alexa” which wakes it up and then giving it commands like “what’s the weather.” It has an app where you set things up, get links to more information on something you asked about, and enable skills.
Skills were a bit confusing at first, but I think of them as apps for the app. When using a skill, you have to tell Alexa you want something from that skill such as, “Alexa, ask Brain Facts to tell me a brain fact.” But there are some fun and useful skills. I’ll be sharing one of my favorites in a future post.
In case you’re wondering, there is also an Amazon Tap. The tap is not voice activated. Instead, you have to actually tap it. I love the convenience of voice activation and would not trade it. But the trade off is that the tap is battery operated. The Echo and Dot both have to be plugged in.
Do you have an Alexa product? What do you think of it?
