If you haven’t started yet, it’s time to get Christmas shopping! With that in mind, here are a few non-food favorite finds that would make great gifts, including an electric kettle, shopping bags, and PopSockets.
4 in 1 Shopping Bags
My Eco makes a great set of shopping bags. The bags are different sizes, one is insulated, and they are labeled for the best type of food to put in them. For example, the bag for glass jars and bottles (which tend to be heavy) is smaller than the bag for fresh produce. The four bags neatly fold up together and are zipped closed making it really convenient to take your bags with you to the store. I have a set I have used for a couple of years, and I love them. You can learn more about them at My Eco.
For years I have used an electric kettle to heat water for tea and French press coffee. I also use it when I need to heat a large amount of water like when cooking pasta. While I heat some water in a pot on the stove, I also heat water in the kettle, which heats the water faster.
When my old kettle started having problems with heating, I decided to try one with temperature settings. That allows me to heat the water to less than boiling, which is preferable for some tea. I’ve had this kettle for a while now, and it works well. The only thing I’m not thrilled about is the handle. Because the temperature controls are on the top of the handle, it’s a bit big and harder to grip than my old pot. But it’s not a huge deal. The price on this kettle is much better than some other brands that have temperature control.
I recently purchased a PopSocket for my phone, and I love it! As you can see in the pictures, PopSockets make it easy to hold your phone and have your thumb free for tapping the screen and they can also be used to prop your phone up. The PopSocket pops up to the position that you see and can be pushed down to a flatter position. They come in a variety of colors and patterns.
In addition, you can buy a mount that sticks to a surface and allows you to mount the phone with the PopSocket in the flat position. I have a mount in my car. You can find out more and purchase the sockets and mounts together from The Grommet.
