You don’t have to travel to enjoy tropical flavors. Take this pina colada smoothie outdoors on a nice day, relax, and enjoy the refreshing taste. You just can’t go wrong with pineapple and coconut!
I love making smoothies, especially in the summer, and I love that you can change up the flavors each time. I recently found frozen avocado chunks at BJs and have really enjoyed putting those in my smoothies (not this one though).
Lots of blenders work for making smoothies, but I really love my Blendtec blender. I recently had to call support regarding my twister jar (which I love), and they were easy to get a hold of and super helpful! The Blendtec is a high powered blender which really pulverizes things. The frozen avocado I mentioned is super hard and probably wouldn’t work well in a regular blender unless you let it soften up first.
- In a blender, combine all the ingredients except the ice cubes. Blend on high until smooth.
- If using fresh pineapple, add the ice cubes and blend well. (You don’t need the ice if using frozen pineapple.)
- Pour into two serving glasses. Garnish with additional coconut, lime, and/or pineapple slices and serve immediately.
