Kinnikinnick Foods is a company based in Canada. I love the fact that their facility is gluten free. In fact, they even provide their employees with free gluten-free products because they are not allowed to bring gluten into the facility.
It is their strict standards that allows me to feel comfortable eating their products. They have a large variety of gluten-free products to choose from. Most are also dairy and many are soy and nut free.
Recently, Kinnikinnick sent me an assortment of their doughnuts because they want to get word out that they have Pumpkin Spice Doughnuts available for your fall enjoyment.
All of their doughnuts are good. They taste just like doughnuts should. They are not particularly soft, but they’re not hard either. They are just more dense than some gluten-filled doughnuts.
My gluten-free son likes their doughnuts and they make a special treat for him when he needs one. I keep the doughnuts in the freezer, and pull them out as needed.
The regular varieties of doughnuts are packaged in boxes. I suppose since it is a special item, the pumpkin spice doughnuts were in a plastic package that was not as protective. The doughnuts themselves were not harmed, but much of the glaze was broken off. If looks are important to you or your child, you might want to keep this in mind when ordering any seasonal doughnuts.
The Giveaway: Kinnikinnick is giving away a doughnut assortment to one winner. The giveaway is open to US and Canadian residents.

Disclaimer: I was provided with an assortment of doughnuts to sample for this review. The opinions in this post are my own.
I haven’t tried these yet — can’t find them at my local grocery stores. But I’ve been jonesing for a donut lately, because we have Krispy Kremes brought to my workplace once a week. They always smell so good.
Please enter me in the drawing and I would love to be the winner since I have not had a donut since I was diagnoised with celiac 1 1/2 years ago. Oct 15th is my 65th birthday so winning donuts would be a double celebration.
Also: I follow you on the RSS.

My kids and I love Kinnikinnick Donuts, We have enjoyed the glazed and Cinnamon Sugar variety. So delicious. I can’t wait to try Pumkpin Spice, my all time favorite flavor….
I love Kinnikinnick products. Their donuts are great. I’ve not tried the pumpkin spice ones yet, not sure if they are in VA or not! A little trick to warm them up and soften them– wrap loosely in a paper towel and heat in microwave for about 10 seconds or so. They come out hot and fresh tasting. The frosting will melt like a glaze. These are sooooo good.
I have liked Kinnikinnick 🙂 (been a fan for years!!)
I subscribe to your email and enjoy all the tips and info:-)
I hope I can find these somewhere. I only really like donuts in the fall. Maybe I’m just missing our local orchard’s cider donuts.

These were hard for me to find, but finally found them in the secret freezer in my local grocery store. It’s a freezer section off the beaten path that has those Vegan pizzas and the Rice Dream ice cream. I LOVE them!! I have them in the freezer and use them as a treat once per week. I’ve not seen the pumpkin ones but they sound good. My favorite is the glazed, but the chocolate & cinnamon ones are good too. I do not care for them thawed, only fresh from the freezer. They do not have that grainy texture or weird after taste. They are WONDERFUL!

I terribly miss donuts since being gluten-free, and even before since they are not the same as they were 30 years ago (before bleached flour, hydrogenated oil, etc), and they are time consumig to make. I think I might splurge in my budget and try some of these. Kinnikinnick donuts! Or maybe I will win and get to try some free.
We love the donuts. My mom buys them whenever we go to the health food store that carries them. She heats them up in the microwave before eating, to help make them soft(er). Yes, little on the heavy side, but pretty good 🙂
Thanks for the contest.
I love their donuts! My favorite is the glazed. Sadly, budget wise I have not been able to enjoy them recently. 🙁

We love Kinnikinnik donuts and other goodies. In fax, my son was asking for donuts this morning, but we are out. I do wish they would me out with a donut that is like a gluten glazed donuts, so light and fluffy. I tried another brand that claimed to have one, but it wasn’t. My 3 boys and I are all gluten free.
Also, I get your updates via email and I ‘liked’ kinnikinnik on Facebook.

I have purchased for my husband a number of frozen glazed gluten-free donuts 😀 we discovered them a few months ago, and I was hesitant to buy them because they were like six bucks a box for six small donuts – but they’re really really delicious. My husband loves them, and they were his first gluten-free donuts.
I have posted this to my Facebook (husband will be thrilled we can possibly order some)

I’m a fan of all things “Kinnikinnick”….but the donuts are my special treat! I live in Alberta, Canada and had the opportunity to visit the Kinnikinnick Bakery a few years ago. I was newly diagnosed & had heard I could find some great GF baking products at their store. We were greeted with a table of their White cake samples – delicious – and I found the supplies I needed to make my GF cooking and baking
successful. So when their Donuts arrived in our local health food store I was delighted…they are soooo good! My husband and I winter in Arizona, so it’s great to find these products there as well!
I’m subscribed to your site here (and love all the cool companies you review, trying new pricey GF products feels less scary when I know someone else likes them)
I’d LOVE to try these donuts–so much better for you than DD’s! I follow you on Google reader.
I have looked at them them in the freezer case more times than I can count, but not tries them yet.
Hi Linda, I hope you feel better. I liked them on FB and subscribed and posted contest on FB!! I can’t remember the last time I had a doughnut…I guess it’s been over a year. I would love to try them and I love your site!! Hugs, Ali

I live in New Brunswick, Canada and have not seen the Kinnikinnick brand in any of the Loblaw Stores that we have here, but I am sure they are in the larger cities like Halifax. I would really like to have the opportunity to try gluten free products that are made here and it is good to know that there are more and more companies jumping into the gluten free market here. I normally get my products across the border when I make my semi-weekly trip to Maine.
Thanks Linda for the great giveaways.

Mmmm, doughnuts. I miss them! (And haven’t tried these.)
My 6 year old daughter Elena loves Kinnikinnick cookies, but we’ve never bought the doughouts. As a matter of fact, she has never eaten a doughnut in her life. I would love to introduce her to these! I’ll have to see if I can find them.
