Hi everyone! October is almost over, and it sure ended with a bang around here. Our area was affected by hurricane Sandy, and although we got a ton of rain and had very strong sustained winds, the effects were not as bad as expected. We lost power last evening, but I am hopeful that it will be restored in a day or two.
Thanks for stopping by for this carnival. I hope you will add a link and browse the others.
Giveaway: This week I am giving away a copy of The Flavor Bible. It’s my new favorite “cookbook.”
Monthly Theme: October’s theme has been sweet potatoes and that will continue this week. November’s theme is appetizers (with holiday parties in mind). The theme is just a suggestion, not a requirement, but I do look for theme related recipes to highlight each week.
Last Week’s Highlights: Here are the last of the sweet potato highlights.
Black Bean Sweet Potato Tacos – Gluten-Free Cat
Sausage w/Russet Potatoes & Sweet Potato Cream Sauce – GFE
Oven Baked Sweet Potato Fries – Tessa the Domestic Diva
Grilled Sweet Potatoes and Apples – Allergy Free Test Kitchen
My Submission: I finally have a sweet potato recipe for you, and it’s a great one.

Hi Linda! I’ve added my Milk Dud Bon-Bons just in time for Halloween. 🙂 Thank you for using your site to host, and have a great week!
Thanks for hosting. Sweet potatoes are so yummy. I can’t even imagine how great they’d taste roasted with coconut! Thanks for the recipe. I hope you’ll stop by (if you haven’t already) and link it up at Gluten-Free Monday on OneCreativeMommy.com.
Hi Linda,
Your roasted sweet potatoes sound delicious.
I’ve got two recipes to share this week – Halibut Lettuce Wraps With Thai Coconut Curry Sauce and Guilt Free Double Chocolate Banana Cookies.

Hi Linda, I’ve linked up Chocolate Haystacks this week. These treats are perfect for fall and Halloween, but will also work as treats for any holiday or occasion. Pistachio and cranberry adornments even make them a bit “Christmasy.” 😉
Your sweet potato recipe looks great! I like the new theme of appetizers, too. 🙂
Grateful that you weren’t too affected by Sandy … us either, and Son in NYC is fine as well. Very relieved. But so many folks have been through a lot and still have much to go through. Keeping them all in my thoughts and prayers.
Hope your power is back on. Hugs,
Shirley
Shirley, I saw your haystacks earlier this week, and they look great. I’m glad your son is safe and sound. I’m sure that was a bit tense for you!
Thanks for highlighting my sweet potatoes and apples recipe. This week I’m linking up another autumnal recipe….apple pie porridge! Thanks for hosting!
