Don’t let a holiday like Easter scare you just because you’re gluten free. There is plenty of delicious gluten-free food to enjoy. Here are a few gluten-free recipes that will help make this Easter a tasty one.
Hot Cross Buns are traditionally served on Good Friday, but they’re great any time.
If you want to make your own Easter treats for your kids, here are two homemade recipes that they’re sure to love. If your child can’t have peanuts, substitute another nut butter or sunflower seed butter.
Chocolate and Peanut Butter Bunnies
Chocolate Covered Coconut and Peanut Butter Eggs
If you’re looking for Easter dinner dessert ideas, everyone loves both of these:
As for Easter dinner itself, it’s pretty easy to make that gluten free. Remember to read labels, and especially beware of ham glaze which often contains gluten.
For side dishes, avoid casseroles that use cream of chicken (or mushroom or celery) soup. You can make your own cream soup, but I prefer skipping the casserole and making something like these green beans almandine.
Instead of scalloped potatoes, try my mom’s gold potato casserole (if you eat dairy) or roasted red potatoes. If you want a low carb dish, go for mashed cauliflower.

Laura, you can access my recipe index from the orange bar near the top of any page on my blog. Some of the recipes are written as dairy free, but if not, milk and butter substitutes usually work just fine. To get you started, here’s a muffin recipe that is naturally dairy free: http://glutenfreehomemaker.com/pineapple-coconut-muffins/
Hi Linda,
Your Easter dishes would make everyone in my house happy! I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend —

Good ideas! I’m so happy to have landed on the angel food cake recipe. I have not seen one gluten free before. Too cool!
Such lovely treats! I think I’ll start with the hot cross buns. 🙂
