In this edition of Favorite Finds I’m sharing my new favorite nut butter that I’m totally addicted to, a couple of different salts that might make nice gifts, and some ear plugs I use when operating my blender.
1. Manna Butter Nuts ‘N Seeds
When shopping at my local health food store, I happened across Manna Butter in different varieties from Manna Organics. I chose the Nuts ‘N Seeds jar and I’ve been buying it ever since! It contains organic dry roasted cashews, pecans, almonds, and hazelnuts as well as flaxseed, hemp seeds, chia seeds, and Himalayan pink salt. That’s it. There’s no added sweeteners.
I just love the combination of different nut flavors, and the seeds give it a rough crunchy texture. I like putting it on apples or cucumbers or in a smoothie. But mostly I like a spoonful by itself for a quick and easy snack. I’m addicted!
This summer, my friend Shirley talked me into trying Seasonello, which she loves. It contains sea salt, rosemary, garlic, sage, and black pepper. It took me a while to learn how much to use because at first I was putting too much on my food. It is primarily salt, but the additional flavors are an easy way to make food more interesting.
San Francisco Salt Co.
I was recently sent a few salt samples from San Francisco Salt Co., and I really like it! They have a large variety of flavors to choose from, including smoked salt. I think these jars with the little spoons would make a great gift for anyone who likes to cook. And shakers are also available for people who just like to season their food.
3. Ear Plugs
My husband wears hearing aids, and I have noticed that my hearing is not what it used to be. No matter what your age, you need to protect your ears (and your children’s ears).
Unfortunately, high powered blenders are very loud, and my Blendtec blender is no exception. My husband has always told me that the blender is too loud, so I try to plug my ears when I’m using it. But it’s hard to do that and operate the machine.
Recently I was visiting my sister and saw that my brother-in-law wore these ear plugs while using his blender. I wouldn’t like wearing them for very long, but they’re perfect for this purpose. I can easily put them on and take them off, and when I’m not using them, they sit around the base of the blender jar.
