Zukay Live Foods Review & Giveaway

Zukay Live Foods produces “an everyday probiotic, lacto-fermented product that can make you healthier every time you eat it, and that you don’t have to change a single thing in your eating habits to enjoy.”

Their products, which use lacto-fermented vegetables, include salad dressings, salsas, relishes, and kvasses (a drink).  You can read more about fermentation and probiotics on their site.

I had the opportunity to sample their salad dressings, and I can tell you that these products are packed with vegetables, herbs, and flavor.

They are different than traditional salad dressings in that most do not contain oil.  They are mostly water and vegetables/herbs which is why they are so full of flavor.  I love the different flavor combinations such as cucumber mint, sweet onion basil, red pepper cilantro, tomato Provencal, tomato pepper pesto, and carrot ginger. They add a real flavor punch to your salad.

The only thing I disliked about this product was the bottle.  I found that it was difficult to pour the salad dressing in a nice way.  I always end up with a sudden rush of salad dressing coming out.  At least it’s just like adding more vegetables and not like getting too much of store brought salad dressing.

Also, sometimes I prefer to have a little oil on my salad, but it was easy to drizzle a bit of olive oil on with the salad dressing.

That cucumber mint sounds good! I’d love to try these dressings. I told DH I didn’t want to buy the overly processed dressings anymore. I’ve been trying homemade recipes and he hasn’t liked any of them. These sound like a healthy alternative!

The cucumber mint and the tomato pepper pesto sound just yummy! Both sound like they would be good on a pasta salad.

Wow, these sound delicious! I am torn between the tomato Provencal and the tomato pepper pesto…but I think I’ll choose the tomato pepper pesto b/c I am a huge pesto lover, and have not enjoyed it near enough since going dairy free!

Red pepper Cilantro sounds spicy and yummy! Hmmm.. I can see it on my taco salad or Chicken salad with red peppers and corn, Romaine, avocado, tortilla strip chips!
