Remoulade Sauce

What is remoulade sauce?  It’s a condiment that is usually mayonnaise based and is often served with fish.  Outback used to serve remoulade with their salmon, but our local Outback no longer serves it.

That was part of the reason I wanted to try making my own remoulade.  I also just wanted a homemade condiment that I could serve with fish.  Remoulade can vary quite a bit in the ingredients used.  Some recipes are spicy, this one is not, but feel free to add a little hot sauce if you enjoy the heat.

This recipe is quite simple and uses ingredients you probably have on hand.  I used my onion and garlic pepper which I always have mixed up, but you could also use a little onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper.

We enjoyed this sauce with baked salmon.

Remoulade Sauce

Remoulade Sauce
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 Tablespoons mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion and garlic pepper
  1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and adjust according to taste.
  2. Serve as a seafood condiment.
