Pacific Foods Soup Starters: Review & Giveaway

Pacific Natural Foods has added two flavors to their line of soup starters.  I hadn’t tried any of their soup starters, so I was happy to try them out.

The soup base is the liquid part of the soup, but it’s far more than just broth.  It is full of flavor.

Each package contains directions for using two cups of the soup starter and various add-ins including protein, vegetables, and noodles, depending on the type of soup.  A number of condiments are also suggested on the package making it fun for everyone to personalize their own soup.

There are five flavors of soup starters:

  • Beef Pho
  • Chicken Pho
  • Vegetarian Pho
  • Tom Yum
  • Tortilla

These soup starters are a great way to make dinner preparation quick and easy.  With cooler weather settling in, they make a great addition to your pantry.

I tried the tortilla soup.  I opted to add ground turkey since I’m eating lots of protein these days.  As I mentioned already, the soup is full of flavor.  The spiciness is a little strong for our tastes, but most of you will not think so.  We buy mild salsa, but if you like medium, you’ll love this soup.

The Giveaway: Pacific Natural Foods is giving away all five of their soup starters to one winner.

I’ve been thinking about these guys for a while when I saw them but just haven’t quite brought myself to doing so because it’s pretty rare that a boxed soup will taste as good as homemade. But I think I’d love to try the Chicken Pho since that’s a dish that’s harder for me to make at home to get the base right anyways. *grin*
