Gluten-Free Wednesdays 12-5-12

Gluten-Free Wednesdays button
Happy December!  I enjoyed browsing your links last week, but especially the holiday themed recipes.

If you’re looking for gluten-free eating ideas for this holiday season, I’m sure you’ll find some here this week.

Gluten-Free Food Gifts: Over the next month I am sharing homemade gluten-free food gift ideas from other bloggers.  I recently shared Chili Seasoning, Truffles, and Figgy Pear Jam.   There’s lots more to come so be sure to stop by and see what’s new or subscribe so you won’t miss a post.

Gluten-Free Desserts:  If you haven’t yet been there, be sure to visit Shirley’s new blog, All Gluten-Free Desserts.  It highlights dessert recipes from various bloggers, and you’re sure to find some great ideas for the holidays.

Monthly Theme: Last week we finished November’s theme of appetizers.   December’s theme is cookies!  The theme is just a suggestion, not a requirement, but I do look for theme related recipes to highlight each week.

Last Week’s Highlights:  Here are the last of the appetizer highlights.

Mediterranean Feta Dip – MJ’s Kitchen
Raw Creamy Garden Soup – Gluten-Free Cat
Edible Reindeer – The Peaceful Mom

My Submission:  My submission is a breakfast recipe.

  1. I love your breakfast dish. I eat little meat but I like to add a little bit of sausage to dishes. It adds so much flavor to any dish.

  2. Thanks so much for sharing my Raw Creamy Garden Soup! I have quite opposite dishes to share this week! Two meat dishes and some delicious Vegan Pumpkin Spice Chocolate Chip Cookies. Have a great week!

  3. Linda, I have noticed that Christmas recipes are beginning to be shared in so many linkys. I’m behind. I decided last night that I better get started since it is Dec already LOL.
This week I’m sharing a Hamburger Rice Casserole, gluten and dairy free. It has a wonderful blend of flavors and a lot of room for creativity. Thank you for hosting and hope you are having a great week!

  4. It may not be cookies, but still a good holiday treat….I’m linking up gingerbread donuts with cinnamon buttercream frosting. Free of the top 8 food allergens and still delicious!

  5. Hi Linda–Thank you SOOO much for the mention of my new gluten-free desserts site! It’s a fun, and timely, place to visit for sure. ;-)

I’m not linking up a cookie recipe, but what could be considered an appetizer/treat (appetizers were last month; I’m behind! LOL) with my “primitive” Homemade Chocolate Hazelnut Almond Spread, Double “Nut-ella,” if you will. Plus there’s my review of Nuts.com grain-free flours (with a giveaway).

While I never would have thought of sausage with oats in a breakfast casserole, it sounds really good! I think I’ll try it with quinoa flakes as I do better with them.

Hope your holidays are going well, dear! Thanks for hosting week after week so we can all enjoy so many amazing recipes. :-)

    Hugs,
    Shirley

  6. Hi, Linda. This is my first time linking up with Gluten Free Wednesdays. I’m happy to come across your allergy friendly linky party – looks like a lot of great recipes being shared!
Although not cookies, I’ve shared some Christmas themed allergen free candies. My 4-year old suggested we make cake pops instead of cookies for Santa this year, but we’ll see . . .
    Thanks for hosting!

  7. The recipe links are definitely getting me thinking about the holidays, even though the weather isn’t.

My link is for chunky roasted applesauce. I served it for Friday after Thanksgiving brunch with buckwheat pancakes and maple-spiced fresh ham. There was no sauce left over!

Caption cut off should be, “Use a variety of apples.” Love your linky event–thanks for hosting!

  8. Hi!
Thanks for letting me share my own recipe of tasty and delicious
    Roasted Maple Nuts!

    Here’s the link:

  9. Hi! I’ve shared my Grain Free Ginger & lemon Tart this week! I’m looking forward to the gift ideas!

    Thank you for hosting!

  10. Hi Linda! I’m adding my Meaty Portobellos and Lemon Kale Topped with Pumpkin Seed Cream this week. Thanks for hosting!

  11. Hello! Thank you for hosting! This is my first gluten-free Wednesday submission- hope you like it :) #49

  12. I’m looking forward to Christmas goodies, especially cookies! This week I’m linking a sweet recipe, but it’s a pie — a family tradition converted to gluten-free: Pennsylvania Dutch Apple Tart.
