Gluten-Free Wednesdays 2/16/11

Gluten-Free Wednesdays2

Hi everyone!  I hope you enjoyed your Valentine’s Day.  Thanks for visiting my blog and checking out Gluten-Free Wednesdays.

Giveaways: This week (because I love you so much) I have two great giveaways:  Rudi’s Gluten-Free Bread (ends Wednesday night) and Handy Gluten-Free Crab Cakes.  Both are great products.

Monthly Challenge: February’s challenge is to make a loaf of gluten-free yeast bread.  I have been behind on this challenge, but I did make a loaf of bread yesterday.  It was okay, but I need to keep working on it.

Last Week’s Highlights: I was pleased that we had several bread recipes submitted last week.  Be sure to take a look if you missed them.

I'm glad to have found your carnival! I've submitted my Baked French Toast with Almond Butter and Bananas, because you'd never know it was gluten-free or even healthy. Delish!

  2. laxsupermom says:

The cookies look great! Oats were a tough one for my son to learn how to not eat. It was easy for him to avoid wheat. I had to explain to him that oatmeal treats that came out of our kitchen were safe. Oatmeal treats that came from anywhere else were not. Thanks for sharing and for hosting this party every week.

  3. Gluten Free and Loving It says:

I never was a big fan of bread so perfecting a gluten free loaf really hasn't been a high priority for me. But I do have my recipe for rotini in pumpkin sauce this week.

  4. gfe--gluten free easily says:

I linked up two posts and recipes (plus the terrific Cook IT Allergy Free app giveaway) from my Suite of Sweets for Sweethearts event. As I said before, those cookies of yours look awfully good! I have yeast waiting … hope I get to the bread challenge. ;-)

Some great recipes here as usual! Thanks for hosting!

Happy Wednesday Linda! This week I am sharing my recipe for Green Bean Salad With Fennel, Dried Blueberries and Blue Cheese. The flavor combination is amazing! I hope people will try it even if they have not had fennel (anise) before. The key is to buy smaller fennel bulbs if possible and make sure it is really fresh when you buy it.
    Thanks for hosting!

Linda-I'm sharing a new GF/Grain-Free salmon cake loaded with carrots, potatoes, and spinach. This is also the first post on my new and under construction WordPress site. I'm still working on making the move from Blogger, but decided to just go ahead and start posting in the midst of the upheaval. I'm working on bread and hope to get a success to post about before the end of the month. Crossing my fingers. Now I just need to figure out my posting identity.

Hi there! I believe this might be my first submission to Gluten-Free Wednesdays. Excited about it :) I linked up my mushroom pizza recipe from my gluten-free pizza fest, day 8!

  8. Pat @ Elegantly, Gluten-Free says:

    Hi, Linda –
In response to the harsh winter we've been experiencing, I resorted to comfort food this week: Lasagna with Spinach. Might as well have the oven on for something I really like!

  9. Samara says:

I was recently told that I can't eat gluten so I am just learning what I need to do to go gluten free. I LOVE bread and pasta so I am really happy whenever I can find gluten-free versions. I can see that I will be making more stuff at home now to stay gluten free. I even have two (or three) breadmakers so I will be trying out all the recipes here.

I am so glad to find you! I just started my gluten free adventure and have been a bit overwelmed. So I am so happy to have found your site to help me find food. And also places to purchase. Its been slim pickings to this point. Hopefully moving up from here out. Thanks so much

Hi Linda! Happy Wednesday! I am linking up a really easy Mark Bittman recipe for compound butter that is obviously gluten free and great to use on roasted poultry! All the best! Alex

  13. It's my first time joining this wonderful gluten-free Wednesdays blog party. Thanks for hosting.
