Gluten-Free Menu Plan 2-10-13

Valentine’s Day is this week, and I hope to have a round up of recipe ideas for you on Tuesday.  Meanwhile, here is a menu plan which includes sausage stuffed shells for Valentine’s Day dinner.

Ham Loaf, Potatoes, and Green Beans – The ham loaf combines chopped ham and ground turkey.  I like to use turkey ham for this recipe.  It’s one that my boys really enjoy.

Chicken Enchilada Casserole, Salad – The casserole recipe comes from Shirley at Gluten Free Easily.  It looks similar to my Mexican lasagna and it’s sure to be a hit.

Hamburger Soup, Bread Sticks – This is an easy soup that combines meat, potatoes, and vegetables.

Chicken (or turkey) Pot Pie, Steamed Broccoli – This pot pie is topped with a gluten-free biscuit recipe.  My kids love it.

Sausage Stuffed Shells, Salad – We consider stuffed shells to be a real treat, and they would make a nice Valentine’s Day dinner.

Cheeseburger Fries, Salad – An easy Friday night dinner.

Breakfast Casserole, Fresh Fruit and Veggies – Following our usual breakfast for dinner on Saturdays.

Can you tell me where to find “instant” yeast. A couple of the recipes you have use this, and I have not been able to find it. We are in rural IA.

You should be able to find bread machine yeast at your grocery store. It usually comes in a 4 ounce jar. That will work. If not, use regular yeast, but you might have to use about 1/3 more and you will need to add it to the warm liquid and let it proof before mixing it with the dry ingredients.

If you have a question about a recipe (especially substitutions and nutritional information), please read my FAQ page before asking the question in a comment.
