An easy way to add a little decoration to cakes and cupcakes is to use cookie cutters.
Place the cookie cutter on top of the cake after it is frosted, then add sprinkles, coconut, or whatever you can think of that would be pretty, inside the cookie cutter.
I decorated these cupcakes rather quickly, but you get the idea. I used leftover Christmas sprinkles.
I’ve seen a decorating idea like this, but I think it was sprinkled around on the outside instead of the inside of the cutter.
I never thought to do something like this. What a great idea! The best part is that the sprinkles wouldn’t be all over the place, plus I like the idea of making a design.
