Bug Patch Review & Giveaway

I want to start by saying that this is not a normal type of review and giveaway for this blog.  I had intended to do the giveaway on Facebook, but didn’t realize how many restrictions there were on doing that.

I really like this product, though, and I think you all will too.  It is gluten free.

I hate mosquitos.  They are very annoying, but I also hate putting chemicals or strong smelling (natural) sprays and lotions on my skin.  This product has neither chemicals nor strong odors.  In fact, it’s completely odorless.  And it works!

The Bug Patch is a small square patch that is very thin and clear.  It contains vitamin B1 which enters your blood stream and the excess is released through your pores.  That means head to toe protection because vitamin B1 masks the carbon dioxide that is coming through your pores and that makes you unappealing to bugs.  You can read more on their How It Works and FAQ pages.

The only drawback to this product is that you don’t have instant protection.  You need to put the patch on a couple of hours before bug exposure, but the protection lasts up to 36 hours!

They recommend using 1 – 2 patches for adults.  I found that one patch worked well for me.  The first time I tried it, I went out about 4 hours after putting the patch on.  I spent time in my garden in the evening when I would normally receive several bites.  I didn’t get any bites.

The next morning I walked the dogs in the woods.  I normally avoid the woods this time of year because the mosquitos hang out there, keeping out of the sun.  When I do venture into the woods, I can hear them buzzing around my ear and I end up with bites.  This time I deliberately went into the woods.  I didn’t receive any bites and never heard them buzzing.

You can purchase The Bug Patch online or enter to win below.

  3. These patches look great! I’m pretty much an indoors person. But my hubby and daughter get chewed up plenty for all of us in the yardwork and gardening, as we live in a wooded area. Unfortunately (for him but not our pocketbook), my hubby spends lots of time working on our cars outdoors as well and is always battling the bugs. I like hiking but am often deterred at some of the best times of year because of the bugs. I’m also thinking of my father-in-law, who is a supergardener and supplies us with many veggies in the summer months and canned goods in the winter. I know the bugs drive him nuts. Would love to pass a sample on to him as well! Thanks for sharing about this product! I’d never heard of this approach. It’ll be a MUST try at our house.

I subscribe via email and as we live in the bush, we get black flies, mosquitoes, deer flies, no seeums and lots of other bugs that seem to like to have a bite. I love to try this to see if it would work for all of the above. Needless to say if my hubby goes outside with me guess who gets bitten, thats right just little old me!!!

  35. Danielle says:

Our family goes camping quite a bit and it never fails that we get attacked by mosquitos. When my kids get bitten they of course scratch the heck out of the bites, which then makes them bleeds and then putting any cream or anything on them just burns. Then they end up looking like they have had the chicken pox. I would love to try these patches and to not have kids that look like they just had chicken pox.

  36. I live in Minnesota, the mosquito is our state bird. Nuff said!

  40. Ann Maurren says:
