With the holidays approaching, this apple pie smoothie is a great alternative to a traditional apple pie for those needing a gluten-free, grain-free diet. It has all the flavors of apple pie filling – without the crust!
I like to use unfiltered apple juice in this recipe. It has more body, which makes for a thicker smoothie. I also think it has more flavor than it’s thinner, apple juice counterpart. I also think it’s important to use Greek yogurt instead of plain yogurt. Again, you get a thicker smoothie that is reminiscent of actual pie filling.
- 2 cups Unfiltered Organic Apple Juice
- ½ cup Greek Yogurt
- 1 cup Organic Applesauce
- ½ teaspoon apple pie spice
- 3 ice Cubes
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Serves 2 in large glasses or 4 in smaller glasses.
