Apple Pie Smoothie

Apple Pie Smoothie

The following is a guest post from Andrea Green.  You can read more about her below.  We’re still having warm weather around here, and smoothie’s are a welcome refreshment.  This one is perfect for fall!

With the holidays approaching, this apple pie smoothie is a great alternative to a traditional apple pie for those needing a gluten-free, grain-free diet. It has all the flavors of apple pie filling – without the crust!

I like to use unfiltered apple juice in this recipe. It has more body, which makes for a thicker smoothie. I also think it has more flavor than it’s thinner, apple juice counterpart. I also think it’s important to use Greek yogurt instead of plain yogurt. Again, you get a thicker smoothie that is reminiscent of actual pie filling.
