Allergy-Free and Easy Cooking: Review & Giveaway

Allergy Free and Easy Cooking

Allergy-Free and Easy Cooking—What a great cookbook title!  This book by Cybele Pascal contains 30-minute meals without gluten, wheat, dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, and sesame.  The book is written for all of you who might not feel like cooking tonight.

Coming up with 30-minute meals can be difficult for anyone, but it’s even harder when the meals have to be allergy free.  Cybele has done the hard work for you.

This book is nicely laid out and includes many color photos (not every recipe, though). There is a nice assortment of recipes, and I marked quite a few to try.  The chapters include:

  • Soups and Stews
  • Pasta and Noodles
  • Casseroles and Potpies
  • Chicken and Turkey
  • Beef, Pork, and Lamb
  • Takeout at Home
  • Vegan

Some specialty ingredients are used to make the recipes allergy free, such as Daiya cheese or egg replacer.  Cybele devotes a section before the recipes to stocking your kitchen for quick and easy allergy-free cooking.  Many of the items listed are not specialty items but some are.  It would be very helpful to read over her list and purchase some of the items you don’t have so you are prepared to try her delicious looking recipes.

The recipes include a lot of classics like chicken noodle soup, chicken “Parmesan,” shepherd’s pie, beef and broccoli stir fry, and buffalo wings.  But it also includes recipes such as Vietnamese beef noodle soup, SunButter Dan Dan noodles, chicken saltimbocca, Thai turkey larb, lamb kofta kebabs, and pumpkin enchiladas.

There is sure to be something for everyone in this cookbook, and it would make a great Christmas gift for the allergy-free cook!

Where to Buy:  You can purchase Allergy-Free and Easy Cooking on Amazon for $14.95.  It is also available on Kindle for $12.99.

It is like you read my mind. I am a retiree working with getting it right …………… what all I am now finding myself allergic too besides the wheat and lactose ….????? Would love to be the winner as I spend most of my money on alternative foods so that I am not sick all the time.
If I used this book and then introduced some things back in ………… one at a time…….. to my meals, I may be able to isolate the real rascal foods in my life.

The other day, I was in a health food store and noticed they had Cybele’s book on baking. I squeaked out a “Yay! That fabulous cookbook!” and apparently the nutritionist clerk in that section of the store overheard. She came up, told me that they had just got that book in, that it looked good, ad what did I know about it? I gave a rave oral mini-review, and mentioned the other cookbooks as well. I’m really excited about this new cookbook. Thank you for hosting a giveaway :)
