A couple of months ago I posted a kitchen tip about using tongs for serving food. Several of you commented that you use tongs for reaching items that are too high for you to reach normally.
I never thought of that idea before, and I have really enjoyed using the tip. Now instead of getting a chair or stool or calling someone who is taller than me to reach something on a top shelf, I simply pull out my OXO 12-Inch Tongs and get it for myself. It works beautifully!
Thank you to those of you who commented.

HAHA! I come from a long line of women who are less than 5 feet tall. I was blessed to make it just past 5 foot! I married a man who is over 6 feet tall, so we still use the top shelf in our kitchen. When I need something that isn’t particularly heavy, I use the longest soup ladle to pull it off the shelf. I get a lot of looks from the in-laws, but hey…it works!
That is fantastic! My daughter has a little step stool, so I am frequently using that to get those out of reach items.
